23rd Online Chinese Bridge Chinese Language Competition

2024 Topic: “天下一家”One World, One Family!

States in our competition region:   Utah, Tennessee, Maryland, Idaho, Montana, Virginia, W. Virginia, N. Dakota, S. Dakota, Delaware, Kentucky, N. Carolina, S. Carolina, Nebraska, Wyoming, and D.C.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an Online Competition, there is NO TRAVEL to this region this year for all college participants. 

ORGANIZERS:   Chinese Bridge Club in Maryland

APPLICANTS:  18-30 years old college students, non-native Speakers of Chinese, non-Chinese nationality. 

The Chinese Proficiency Competition will be held  ONLINE in Monday, June 10th . 

COMPETITION FORMAT:

1. The competition will include 2 parts:  Speech & Performance.   

2. The speech and performance should be:  

i. Speech, maximum of 3 minutes - 70% of the total score.  

ii. Cultural performance, maximum 5 minutes - 30% of total score. 

(Cultural demonstration or “talent” such as:  dance, martial arts, Xiang-sheng, poetry, skit, song, instrumental music, Kung fu, etc.) 

iii. The speech and the performance should be in MP4 video format. 

INSTRUCTION：

PRIZES: 

The competition offers one first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes.The winners of the first, second, and third prizes will have the opportunity to receive scholarships and participate in a two-week summer camp in China in 2025.First Prize winner will have the opportunity to participate in the World University Chinese Language Competition preliminaries, finals, and study in China scholarships to China in the summer of 2025. Other winners will have the opportunity to participate in summer camps in China and study in China scholarships.
